THE PAEʻAINA CHALLENGE

July 25–26, 2026 | Waimānalo ➝ Keʻehi Lagoon

For 75 years, OHCRA has built the foundation of competitive paddling on Oʻahu. The Paeʻāina Challenge is the next evolution.

-Two Ironman courses.
-One cumulative clock.
-A format designed to test the depth, discipline, and strategic maturity of Hawaiʻi’s premier crews.

This is not just another race. This is a championship standard.

Race Details and Course

The Paeʻāina Challenge is designed to test the endurance, skill, and teamwork of its participants over 42 miles of open-ocean competition, split into two distinct Ironman courses over two days.

  • Stage 1: (15 miles) A challenging course starting from Waimānalo, heading upwind to Kailua, and returning to Waimānalo.
  • Stage 2: (27 miles) A long-distance stretch from Waimānalo to Keʻehi Lagoon.

The final standings will be determined by the cumulative times from both stages, rewarding crews that demonstrate consistent performance and strategic racing.

For 75 years, OHCRA has stewarded the sport. The next 75 begins here!
