Bridging Tradition & Modern Practices | May 3, 2025
“Take out our phones and Google paddling conference and tell me what the search results pull up? You won’t find any results, because there are none. - Kapuni Patcho (Conference Chair)
OHCRA is proud to announce the launch of our first-ever paddling conference, Wa‘a Holomua, scheduled for May 5, 2025. This inaugural one-day summit will gather paddlers, coaches, and enthusiasts to share knowledge, explore various topics, and celebrate the rich traditions and evolving practices of canoe paddling.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in engaging discussions across multiple rooms, with diverse topics tailored to pique their interests. Whether you're passionate about craft maintenance, training techniques, or cultural practices, Wa‘a Holomua offers something for everyone.
Your ticket includes a light breakfast, lunch, and a commemorative swag bag filled with paddling goodies. A unique highlight of the day is CPR certification for all participants, equipping paddlers with essential lifesaving skills to ensure safer waters for everyone.
Looking to get in a few reps with your paddle while you're here? Join the Ka Lei O Ka Lanakila race the following day! Connect with Healani Canoe Club for canoe rentals and more information.
As we plan for Wa‘a Holomua to grow into a two-day event in the future, we invite you to be part of this exciting first step. Stay tuned for more details, including registration, pricing, and location, by visiting www.ohcra.com/waaholomua.
Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to learn, connect, and paddle forward together. We can’t wait to see you there!
